Registration Schedules and Fees

COURSE TIME:  10 hours (State mandated minimum)

COURSE COST:  $125.00

State mandated classroom time is ten hours. This does not include range time which can add up to another hour to the schedule. Students must pass a written exam and demonstrate reasonable proficiency with a firearm to qualify to apply for the Concealed Handgun License.

The Texas Department of Public Safety CHL Manual is utilized in conjunction with a state of the art Microsoft® PowerPoint presentation.  Overhead projector images, white boards, physical demonstrations, and open discussion further contribute to the learning experience. You will find that our instructors keep you interested, focused, and enthusiastic for the duration of the course.

You must supply your own Semi-Automatic Handgun or Revolver and fifty (50) rounds of ammunition to qualify with at the range. The course fee will include pre-paid range fees associated with your qualification and the use of hearing and eye protection (which may be borrowed from the range). 

Only quality manufactured handguns and ammunition will be permitted on the range for qualification purposes. If you are unsure about your handgun or ammo, please contact PackYourHeat.com prior to attending this course. NO RELOAD AMMUNITION IS PERMITTED!  AGAIN, ONLY QUALITY, COMMERCIALLY MANUFACTURED AMMO IS PERMITTED

IF YOU DO NOT OWN A HANDGUN

Packyourheat.com can provide you with a handgun for use in the range portion of the class for a fee of $25.00 (Wear and tear, and cleaning).  You must still provide your own ammunition.  Please email or call Packyourheat.com to make arrangements for handgun rental and ammunition information.

PLEASE NOTE:  The CHL License Course is a mandatory ten hours. Due to the length of the class, not all course schedules and facilities will permit needed time for dinner/lunch breaks. A brief period of time may be available for lunch depending on when the shooting portion of the course is scheduled at the range. However, we strongly recommend that you bring a sack lunch or snacks and drinks. Food and drink are allowed in the classroom and restroom breaks can be taken as needed.

Register soon, classes fill up quickly.  It can take up to two months for the Texas Department of Public Safety to approve and issue you license after you have passed our course.  The quicker you put things in motion, the sooner you will PACK YOUR HEAT !
